VISUAL ARTS MISSISSAUGA (VAM) LAUNCHES
ONLINE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR ARTISTS

Are you an artist who is looking to set new goals for your art practice? Would you like to exhibit beyond the gallery walls? Connect with an inspiring group of like-minded artists? Receive support, feedback and guidance from industry professionals? Look no further than Visual Arts Mississauga’s new series of Online Professional Development Programs for Artists.

VAM has three new fall courses to choose from; Part 1 – Professional Development for Community Artists, Plan Your Own Art Exhibition and Public Art 101.

“We’re thrilled to offer artists inspiring, practical and motivating insights as we welcome industry experts Fausta Facciponte, William Huffman and Maria Kim to host our new programs”, explains Wendy Heagney-Bakewell, VAM’s Program Development Manager. “Artists will learn to advance their art practice and develop their professional skills from defining their career vision to developing a working plan with practical strategies and actions. Looking beyond the artwork, participants will consider the spectrum of strategies that help achieve professional goals; these include written texts, proposals, exhibitions, and other professional endeavors.”

ABOUT VISUAL ARTS MISSISSAUGA AT RIVERWOOD: Visual Arts Mississauga would like to acknowledge that the land on which we operate is the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the traditional homeland of the Anishinaabe, Wendat, and Haudenosaunee nations. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the lands protected by the “Dish With One Spoon” wampum agreement. Today, this place is still home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples. We are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on this land.
