About Station Independent Projects:
Station Independent Projects is delighted to open a space in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in September 2023 on Geary Avenue. Station Independent Projects organizes exhibitions and events with a focus on artist advocacy and specializes in discovering new emerging and mid-career artists that are not represented by galleries and organizes shows to connect artists to broader audiences.
Prior to opening the gallery in the Lower East Side, NYC and in Toronto, Ontario Station Independent Projects had organized exhibitions in the New York City, Chicago and Toronto area for over twenty five years with numerous galleries, art fairs and non-profits.
Kamelia Pezeshki
Leah Oates is the founder of Station Independent Projects, originally a Lower East Side gallery in NYC at two venues from 2012 to 2017. Oates received a B.F.A. from The Rhode Island School of Design and an M.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship for Postgraduate study at Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. She has been organizing shows for approximately 25 years at venues such as The Scope Art Fair, The Center for Photography at Woodstock, Peer Gallery, Asya Geisberg Gallery, Chashama, Artists Space, Nurture Art, Usagi NYC Gallery and Gallery 1313.
