Outdoor Show Coordinator / Operations Manager, Artists’ Network

The Artists’ Network is seeking an individual to execute and manage the Riverdale Art Walk (Jimmie Simpson Park in June) and the Art Walk in the Square (Don Mills shopping Centre in September).

The non-profit Artists’ Network is one of the premier arts organizations in the city of Toronto. We celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Riverdale Artwalk this year. Riverdale typically hosts 160+ artists and the Artwalk in the Square 80+.

Our present director, responsible for these shows since 2010 will be focusing on her art career and will be transitioning out of the position after the Riverdale Artwalk in June. This means she is available for insight and questions through the transition.

The candidate is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the show(s). Including but not limited to the following: Timeline, call for submissions, recruiting artists, permitting, organizing of jurying, artist management, inquiries, marketing/advertising for the shows, marking the park for tent layout, artist orientations, volunteer coordination and active presence at the shows. The candidate must be able to work within a budget and supply monthly budgeting updates.

The position is part time between Early January to end of September. The candidate must be organized, computer literate, able to juggle different tasks as required. They must have working knowledge of Excel for budgeting proposes. Access to Canva / Illustrator is an asset. They should love the Arts and helping Artists move their career forward. Drivers License and access to a car is an asset for in person meetings, transportation of Artwalk supplies and onsite visits.

The selected candidate will report to the Artists’ Network Board of Directors.

Wage: Commensurate with experience.
