Executive Director, The Hangar Flight Museum

For over 50 years, The Hangar Flight Museum has preserved and celebrated western Canada’s aviation heritage while inspiring future generations through education, storytelling, and discovery. Located in a historic RCAF British Commonwealth Air Training Plan hangar dating back to the Second World War, the Museum is home to an extraordinary collection of aircraft, artifacts, and stories that bring Canada’s aviation and aerospace history to life. Through its unique partnership with Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame, The Hangar Flight Museum connects the past with the future by engaging the community, sparking curiosity, and inspiring the next generation of aviators, explorers, and innovators. Following the launch of a new strategic plan, the Museum is building on its momentum with a bold ambition to become western Canada’s premier destination for aviation exploration, learning, and innovation.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic, operational, and cultural leadership across all aspects of the organization. Working closely with the Board, staff, donors, volunteers, and community partners, the Executive Director will drive organizational growth, strengthen financial sustainability, and lead the realization of the Museum’s long-term vision. This leader will advance the strategic plan, oversee day-to-day operations, and champion a transformative capital expansion initiative that will position The Hangar Flight Museum as a leading cultural and educational destination in western Canada.

Salary will be determined based on experience.
