Call for Proposals: Indigenous Mural Project at Wilfrid Laurier University Library

Calling Indigenous Mural Artists!

Wilfrid Laurier University Library and the Office of Indigenous Initiatives invites Indigenous artist(s), to submit proposals for a public-facing mural to be located on the university’s Waterloo campus. The goal of this commission is to celebrate Indigenous art and culture, the different ways of knowing and storytelling in our region, and to encourage cross cultural awareness to amplify Laurier’s commitment to reconciliation and decolonization.

Applicants must be Indigenous artists from the Dish with One Spoon Treaty Territory with a history of outdoor commissions for their creative work, a background including specialized training (academic or non-traditional) in visual art, proven track record in working in a team environment and community or peer recognition as a professional artist.
