Everyday Monuments: A Black History Month Juried Exhibition

Neilson Park Creative Centre is pleased to present Everyday Monuments, a juried group exhibition for Black artists, opening during Black History Month 2026.
This exhibition explores the monuments we carry with us. From the personal, cultural, emotional, and everyday and how Black artists translate that lived experience into form, material, and narrative. Rather than focusing on grand or traditional monuments, Everyday Monuments invites artists to reflect on the intimate, overlooked, and personal markers that shape identity, memory, and community.

Etobicoke Art Group

In central Etobicoke, the Etobicoke Art Group has thrived since 1951. Members thrive in an environment of companionship, mutual exchange of skills and knowledge, and a wonderful sense of community.
They paint, print and draw, and experiment with new techniques, always pushing the boundaries in making innovative art.

Layers of Emotion

Selin Çelebi is a Turkish-born, Toronto-based abstract painter. With a background in Chemistry (BSc) and Polymer Science (PhD), she brings a research-driven approach to the textures and materials of her paintings. Her paintings invite viewers to linger with ambiguity, to sense what lies beneath the surface, and to discover the power of emotions as shared human infrastructure.
Etobicoke Handweavers & Spinners Guild
INTERTWINED: 60 Years of Fibre and Friends
March 3 – 21, 2026

This exhibit is part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the Etobicoke Handweavers and Spinners Guild.
The display will include the work of their members past and present. Several group projects are being created as part of INTERTWINED including: The Garden of Inspiration, The Ribbon of Celebration and a collaborative quilt.
