Onsite Gallery is pleased to announce the simultaneous launch of three exhibitions, Fortitude/Fragile, The Delaney Family Emerging Curator’s Prize: Presence in a past or an undetermined future. + Coco A. Lynge | Up Front: Inuit Public Art @ Onsite Gallery on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Fortitude/Fragile

January 22 to May 17, 2025

In challenging times, the refusal to succumb to despair is a testament to the persistence inherent in humanity. The artworks in Fortitude/Fragile advocate for change and understanding, accentuating the strength of human spirit and the efficacy of decisive actions. They underscore the importance of regenerative learning and cultivate an atmosphere steeped in mutual respect and tolerance.

The exhibition includes works by Sandra Brewster, Francisco-Fernando Granados, Regina José Galindo, Shabnam K.Ghazi, Coco Guzmán, Caroline Monnet, Vessna Perunovich and Anila Rubiku. Fortitude/Fragile is guest curated by Magda González-Mora.

Guest curated by Avalon Mott, Presence in a past or an undetermined future. is a two-person exhibition featuring Nabil Azab and Shannon Garden-Smith that endeavours to hold a moment of presence by calling on what came before it, and giving space to think of what will come after it.

Avalon Mott is the recipient of Onsite Gallery’s inaugural The Delaney Family Emerging Curator’s Prize 2025.

Coco Apunnguaq Lynge | Up Front: Inuit Public Art @ Onsite Gallery

January to April 2025

In partnership with the Inuit Art Foundation (IAF), Onsite Gallery presents Coco Apunnguaq Lynge | Up Front: Inuit Public Art @ Onsite Gallery. Lynge’s mural Maliina (2024) animates the gallery’s street-level façade, drawing on the Inuit circumpolar origin story of the sun and moon.

Up Front: Inuit Public Art @ Onsite Gallery is made possible with the support from the City of Toronto’s Indigenous Arts and Culture Partnership Fund and the Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts.
