Primary Purpose:
The Welcome Centre Manager is accountable to provide support and guidance to all Welcome Centre staff and oversees all processes, on-line and in-store, relating to providing an outstanding visitor experience and the overall profitability and efficient operation of the MacKenzie Shop. They embody the MacKenzie Art Gallery mission and values with a focus on practices that support equity and accessibility.
About the Position:
All Welcome Centre responsibilities are performed with considerable independence, and are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for prioritizing and maintaining a high level of service supporting outstanding visitor experiences at the Welcome Centre and MacKenzie Shop.
- In collaboration with the Communications Department, develops creative concepts for MacKenzie Shop advertising, promotions, and identify target demographics.
- Responsible for the selection, purchase, displays and merchandising of inventory consistent with the mission, values and programs of the MacKenzie Art Gallery.
- Responsible for supervision, scheduling, coaching and support of Welcome Centre staff.
Education: Post-Secondary degree in a related field.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of retail management experience, preferably in the arts or non-profit sector. Experience leading and mentoring a team of staff, working in an organization with equity and accessibility targets, working within a unionized environment, inventory management and budget planning.
Salary Information: $52,114 – $65,000
