Call for Submissions: 2024 Annual Juried Exhibition

Submissions drop-off date: Tuesday, March 19, 2024, 10 AM – 8 PM

Latcham Art Centre invites Ontario-based artists to submit up to two recent works (completed in 2022-24) in any medium to our Annual Juried Exhibition. This year’s exhibition runs from Monday, March 25 to Saturday, April 27, 2024.

All artworks must be dropped off in-person at Latcham on Tuesday, March 19 between 10 AM and 8 PM. A non-refundable fee of $25 + HST per artist must accompany each application, payable online or in person.

Submitted artworks will be juried by an esteemed panel of three art professionals. Applications, rules and regulations are available here.

Call for Submissions from Lens-based, BIPOC Artists

Submission Deadline: Applications may be submitted online, until Sunday, March 31, 2024, 11:59 PM.
Exhibition Dates: Friday, July 19 – Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Latcham Art Centre welcomes submissions of lens-based artwork by Black and Indigenous artists and artists of colour for a small group exhibition on the theme of belonging.

We welcome diverse interpretations of the theme belonging, inviting artists to reflect on the various facets and complexities of human connection and identity, to explore the theme in their own ways.

  • How do we express the evolving experience of what it means to belong to a community, place, or culture?
  • How does belonging manifest in digital realms?
  • How do we experience belonging, camaraderie and love within our chosen families?

Submission Guidelines and Eligibility:

  • Open to all artists who identify as Black, Indigenous or persons of colour.
  • Artists must reside in Ontario and submit lens-based work. For this application, lens-based work includes digital or analog photography, video, projection, or any other piece in which the stated media is integral to the artwork.
  • Your application must include:
    ◦  Contact information and website
    ◦  An artist biography (maximum 300 words)
    ◦  A general artist statement (max 300 words)
    ◦  A statement describing how your work fits with the theme of belonging (max 300 words)
    ◦  CV (not more than 3 pages)
    ◦  10 images (jpg, 3MB each max), or links to 5 online video excerpts (not longer than 5 mins each)
    ◦  Image list with the title, medium, size, and technical considerations/technology needs for artwork.
  • Size limitations: physical works must fit through an entrance of 34” wide x 80” high. Work should be a weight that can easily be handled by two people.
  • If selected, all shipping arrangements and associated costs are the responsibility of the artist.
