Ready to take charge of your data but not sure where to start?
On May 30th, Galeries Ontario / Ontario Galleries invites you to come together at the Aga Khan Museum to explore data in art museums. Connect with peers of all levels of experience, share best practices, and learn from arts and culture data experts at this one-day event. Over the past four years, Galeries Ontario / Ontario Galleries has been working with art museums across Canada to develop skills, awareness, practices and opportunities in the field of data. The Data Shy to Data Driven (DSDD) program, in partnership with Surface Impression, has been a crucial part of this effort.
Launched in 2020, DSDD enhanced the digital and data literacy of Canadian art museums by leading cohorts of art institutions through a series of workshops and mentorship sessions focusing on the key aspects of becoming data-driven. The recently completed third iteration, Data Shy to Data Driven Executive program, specifically addressed the digital and data literacy of senior management. The Executive cohort included the Aga Khan Museum, Ottawa Art Gallery, and the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.
The Data Gathering will act as a culmination of the work of all three Data Shy to Data Driven cohorts, and a launch pad for new Galeries Ontario / Ontario Galleries data initiatives across the arts sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the importance of data in building strategies from the perspective of the audience, staff, management and board.
