Visual Arts Instructor Position

The Department of Fine Arts is seeking a versatile Visual Arts Instructor with a specialization in Drawing. This full-time sessional position will commence August 15, 2023 – April 30, 2024. This is a tenure track position based on favourable evaluations and budget.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate level courses in Visual Arts, advise students, assist with recruitment events, participate in critique sessions, mentor students, serve on department and college committees, and actively contribute to and participate in the Fine Arts Department’s vibrant co-curricular programming. The teaching load for this position is three to four courses/semester, depending on the weight of each course.

The successful candidate will teach the following core courses:
AR2410 Drawing I
AR2430 Drawing II
AR3410 Drawing III
AR3430 Drawing IV

The ability to instruct in additional studio areas or introductory Art History will be considered an asset.

Northwestern Polytechnic provides competitive salaries to its employees. Candidates who hold a Master’s degree are eligible to start at level III on the salary grid, with the increment to be determined based on their experience.
