COURSE: Abstract Storytelling

Instructor: Una Di Gallo

Course Description:
This two part course will include hands-on storytelling exercises, and participants will be given the knowledge to tell their own stories through an abstract lens.


COURSE: Intermediate Storyboarding: Constructing Visual Narratives

Course Description:
In this two-week course, participants will be taught practical applications of storyboarding. The class will be reviewing and building on basic principles of creating storyboards.


COURSE: Puppet-Building for Stop Motion

Instructor: Neil Burns
Date: February 2nd, 9th, 16th 2022
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Course Description:
In this workshop participants will construct a simple, practical, stop-motion armature. The techniques and problem solving skills they learn during this course are aimed at giving them the knowledge they need to tackle more complex puppets.


COURSE: Rig & Animate Faces in After Effects

Instructor: Mike Charal
Date: February 23rd, March 2nd 2022
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
*ONLINE Course ($90 for TAIS Members, $110.00 for Non-Members)

Course Description:
In this intermediate After Effects workshop, we’ll design a character head, rig it to be animated, and start animating a short scene. This 2-part class will be a jumping off point to give you the tools you need to rig your own character heads for animation.


COURSE: Needle Felted Puppets for Stop Motion

Instructor: Meaghan Hettler
Date: March 23rd; 30th 2022
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Course Description:
This hands-on course explores a range of topics on how to design and fabricate a poseable needle felted puppet that’s perfect for stop motion animation. Felting is easy to pick up, versatile, and accessible- it’s a wonderful way to dip your toes into a new craft, or expand your existing skill set!
