Papier Contemporary Art Fair is rescheduled for June 19 to 21, 2020
Papier Art Fair is rescheduled for June 19 to 21, 2020
The Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) is pleased to announce that it will be able to postpone the Papier Fair to early summer, June 18-21, 2020. The recent decree banning cruise ships in the Port of Montreal until July 1st has allowed the Association to take advantage of this unexpected availability to hold the event’s 13th edition in June.
We sincerely hope to have the pleasure of welcoming our public under the summer sun at the Grand Quai of the Port of Montreal. While the coming weeks will be difficult for galleries and the art community, AGAC will double its efforts to offer art enthusiasts an edition as festive and inclusive as the previous ones. That said, we will closely monitor the government measures surrounding COVID-19, keeping the health of gallery owners, visitors, partners, collaborators and employees at the forefront of our priorities.
“The impact of this crisis on the art market will be significant. Nevertheless, it will, I hope, generate creative opportunities for the Association and its members. By postponing Papier to June, we are optimistic that social life will have resumed and that our clients and visitors will want to join us for this unifying and festive artistic event,” said Patrick Mikhail, Chair of AGAC’s Board of Directors and Director of Patrick Mikhail Gallery in Montreal.
In these times of social distancing, we invite you to stay virtually connected by following Papier and AGAC – as well as its galleries – on social networks. Even when they are digital, these relationships contribute to the bonds of solidarity and resilience that fundamentally characterize our milieu.
