Mississippi Valley Textile Museum’s 26th Annual Fibrefest

September 7 – 27, 2021
Mississippi Valley Textile Museum

It is that time of the year again where Almonte is normally crowded with fibre artists and fibre art enthusiasts. This year however due to the limits on social gatherings and with an eye towards public health recommendations our usual festival of the fibre arts; Fibrefest, is happening online!

The market and shopping portion of Fibrefest is postponed until September 2022 but we hope you will still participate in any way you can!

Join us online for Fibrefest, throughout September to take part in online workshops, watch virtual demonstrations, attend lectures sponsored by the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum, and support your favorite fibre artists all while supporting the Museum. Workshops, demonstrations, and lectures will all be taking place online this year.

There is also still time to catch Donald Stuart’s Homage to Canadian Women and Murray Gibson’s Cloth and Consequence before the exhibit closes on September 18th. Learn about the history of some of Canada’s most outstanding women, and about the history of tenacious female weavers in literature.

You can sign up for our workshops and lectures through our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or by clicking here for workshops and here for lectures.
