July 1-23, 2021 – Free Outdoor Art Exhibition + Online Grant Writing Workshop

Hamilton Artists Inc. is pleased to present Incoming! a project addressing the needs of newcomer, immigrant, and refugee artists. Incoming! includes workshops, events, and an art exhibition supporting visual artists who want to establish themselves in the Hamilton arts community. The workshop series is also open to artists in the regional arts community as part of our Professional Development Workshop series.
All programs are free. Workshops will take place online via zoom in English, closed captioning provided. Chat and non-verbal communications tools will be enabled in zoom.

Free Outdoor Art Exhibition

This art exhibition features works by Shabnam Afrand, Arif Bahaduri, Cemile Kacmaz, Soyeon Kim and Mariana Topfstedt at five different locations across downtown Hamilton. Through My Eyes is part of Incoming!, a program for refugee, newcomer, and immigrant artists.

This workshop will provide you with resources to help you find funding, access support systems and prepare strong grant applications. This event will include live, automatic captioning.

Hamilton Artists Inc. (The Inc.) is an artist run centre, committed to the presentation of contemporary art and related cultural practices. The Inc. owns and operates a purpose-built facility, which is fully wheelchair accessible and features two interior galleries, Cannon Gallery and James Street Gallery and the ArcelorMittal Outdoor Courtyard. There are two wheelchair accessible bathrooms and a kitchenette.
The Inc. facilitates a national dialogue surrounding issues in contemporary art through exhibitions, publications, performances, education and outreach projects. The Inc. actively engages in community arts programming and educational initiatives that represent the cultural life in our city and beyond.
