This special 2-day in-person acrylic workshop is led by Ojibwe artist Don Chrétien whose distinctive painting style is inspired by a rigorous observation of natural patterns and the traditional teachings of Ojibwe people. The artist will share his insight about his approach to painting and introduce the formal elements of Woodland-style expression. Topics covered include mastering perspective, color theory, patterns, texture, light, depth and negative space, with special attention given to foundation training on composition, colour, texture and brushstrokes. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as intermediate artists. Please note that this in-person class is capped at 9 participants to maintain social distancing and all York Region public health protocols will be followed.
