Deputy Director, Museum of New, Toronto
The successful applicant will have knowledge of the contemporary art scene, as well as the ability to place the important works from our collection to art dealers, auctions, or as donations to cultural institutions over the long run. This is a commission based, free-lance position without regular hours. (Academic degrees are a bonus, but not a priority.)
The museum is privately owned, currently opened by appointment, located close to the AGO (one street east of Trinity-Bellwoods park). The Museum has organized public exhibitions since 1998. It has a considerable collection of Canadian art, and the representative collection of the international artists of New New Painting movement.

The Museum of New was founded by artist Joseph Drapell and poet Anna Maclachlan in 1998 to promote the art of the New New Painters and other artists. To complement the Museum’s wider mandate, the gallery doubled in size to 5,300 sq.ft. with the addition of a second floor in 2012.
