Coordinator, Public Art

June 6, 2022 – December 31, 2022 ($32.41/hr)

The Coordinator, Public Art will develop and implement the permanent public art initiatives for Cultural Services. The Coordinator, Public Art will lead the public art initiatives for the 175th Anniversary of Blacksmithing in Ontario Project. Public art components include sculptures, murals and community banners. This position and project is grant funded by the Government of Canada, Legacy Fund.

Successful applicants will possess the following:

  • Diploma or degree in design, fine arts, or demonstrated work experience.
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience in public art or project management in a municipal setting. Experience in arts, heritage and culture is an asset.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility, and discretion.
  • Knowledge of the City’s procurement policies and use of SAP an asset.
