Call for Submissions: The Galtway

Deadline: February 9 th, 2023 at 5pm

The Downtown Cambridge BIA is inviting emerging, and established artists and art collectives, with careful consideration given to artists from the Region of Waterloo to submit digital works of art to be considered for display in the newly created outdoor art gallery, The Galtway, in downtown Cambridge, Ontario.

The galley has nine (9) portrait-orientated display frames that are approx. 60” W x 96” H. Each frame is wrapped in vinyl printed with one (1) piece of art. All art mediums are considered as long as they are suitable for reproduction in a 2-dimensional high-resolution image that can be printed on the vinyl wrap.

Only one artist or arts collective will be selected for all nine (9) pieces. Artwork can be created precisely for this open call or previous work that fits the requirements.

The artist or art collective selected to present work in The Galtway will be notified on February 14th, 2023 and will be contracted for six (6) months, currently set for March 1st, 2023, to August 31st, 2023.

The chosen artist or collective will be awarded a one-time artist fee of $705.00 CAD.
