Textile and fibre arts exhibition at the Gladstone Hotel

Exhibition dates: September 3, 2020 – January 3, 2021

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: APRIL 30, 2020 @ 11pm EST

Hard Twist is a signature exhibition at the Gladstone Hotel, and an important annual event in the Canadian textile art community.

The 2020 edition asks: What’s the agenda? Or, what is an agenda? Or, what’s your agenda?

Whether checking a schedule, or promoting concepts that can shape the course of history, or engaging with one’s personal values, contemporary life can be seen through the lens of agenda.

Whether we’re claiming the agenda, putting forth an agenda, owning the agenda, coming together through a common agenda, negotiating conflicting agendas, aligning oneself with an agenda, making a personal agenda, dealing with a financial agenda, political agenda, environmental agenda or social agenda, our world is shaped by multiple agendas.

Hard Twist 15 – Agenda asks artists to submit textile-based work that speaks to meeting the challenges in navigating the myriad agendas of 2020, be it with resistance, passivity or passion.
