The Visual Arts Centre of Clarington (VAC) is pleased to announce its 42nd Juried Art Exhibition in Bowmanville, ON. For over 45 years, the VAC has produced a variety of locally engaged exhibitions and public programmes that offer members of the wider Durham Region an opportunity to learn and create through contemporary art.

We are excited to welcome our community’s artists back with a new opportunity to exhibit their work within our three gallery spaces, as well as the chance to win cash prizes. Submission fees are waived for all current VAC Members and for the Youth category. Non-members can apply to submit artwork for a $25.00 fee. The exhibition will support the VAC in continuing to serve the larger Clarington community while supporting local creators over the upcoming year.

Eight cash prizes will be awarded across the two categories—Youth and Adults—including two People’s Choice Awards voted on by the local public and announced towards the end of the exhibition.

We acknowledge that digital submission formats create a barrier to many as textual formats negate the importance of oral culture in sharing knowledge, language, and practice. For this reason, alternative application requests will be evaluated case-by-case when digital accessibility concerns the submission. If you would like to request an alternate submission format, please contact our Curator of Exhibitions to discuss possible submission methods. Contact details are provided below.
