2022 City of Kitchener Artist-in-Residence

The City of Kitchener has partnered with Textile Magazine to seek project proposals for the 2022 Artist in Residence program. Textile Magazine provides mentorship, arts programming, and publication opportunities for new and emerging writers and artists on the margins, showcasing the diversity of the Waterloo Region. Together, we are seeking proposals from writers and/or artists that directly engage residents in Waterloo Region and are relevant in the contemporary context of that community. Projects that afford the selected writer and/or artist the opportunity to collaborate, while advancing the writer’s/artist’s practice are of particular interest. Projects that demonstrate compelling artistic vision and respond to the city’s diverse community, and region are preferred. Artists from equity seeking groups who work in the literary arts and across other art disciplines are encouraged to apply. This program supports innovation and excellence in the arts.

Deadline: May 30, 2022, midnight.

Submission guidelines, compensation and timeline are available on the city’s website.

Inquiries can be directed to Arts/Creative Industries Program Administrator at, 519 741-2200 Ext. 7912
