Call for Artists: Contests and Competitions at the McMichael
The McMichael is pleased to announce a variety of competitions celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Humber River’s designation as a Canadian Heritage River.
Humber River Photo Contest
Application deadline: August 15, 2019 by 5 pm
Online voting period: August 17 to 24, 2019
En Plein Air Competition
Application deadline: August 15, 2019 by 5 pm
On-site competition dates: August 24 & 25, 2019, 8 am to 5 pm
Award-winning works will be on view in the McMichael’s Community Gallery in Fall 2019.
The McMichael is home to iconic Canadian art including works by the Group of Seven and Tom Thomson, Indigenous, Métis, Inuit and contemporary artists. Explore 100 acres of woodland and hiking trails in the Humber River Valley, wander the Sculpture Garden, dine in the café, and discover Canadian-made gifts in the Gallery Shop.
