The exhibition biometaphysicalmateria features groundbreaking work from the talented 2023 cohort of MFA degree candidates: Hoor Ahmed, Maru Aponte, Gwenyth Chao, Sidi Chen, Isabella Dagnino, Sam Davis, Jimena Diaz Jirash, KJ Edwards, Jenie Gao, Marion Landry, Kalvin Valko, Eliot White-Hill Kwulasultun, and Sophia Zarders.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design is proud to present the diverse practices of the 2023 MFA class with work addressing anamnesis and the feminine body, genealogy and medical imaging, plein air painting, light and perception, compostable materials, environmental aesthetics and bio-active naturescapes, ethic and equity, queer Black histories, queer worlding as well as local and indigenous storywork.

The exhibition is the culmination of two years of intensive artistic research in a studio-based education integrated with critiques, seminar readings and discussions. biometaphysicalmateria promises to be a captivating showcase of animation, drawing, filmmaking, installation, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.

MOBILITY
The main public entrance is located at the southwest corner of the building.

The main entrance is sheltered, and accessible by both ramp and stairs, and there are power-assisted doors.

PARKING
Accessible parking is available in the underground lot at 565 Great Northern Way, located on the southeast side of campus and accessible from Carolina St.
