About the Role

The Cultural Services Facilitator is a key member of the City’s Cultural Services Division. In this role, you’ll coordinate and support a wide range of events and programs that engage:

  • Local artists and arts organizations
  • The broader community
  • Cultural and tourism initiatives
  • Public art and strategic programs

Reporting to the Manager, Cultural Services, you’ll help create accessible, innovative, and inclusive experiences that strengthen Peterborough’s identity as a cultural destination.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver cultural events, programs, and initiatives
  • Support the City’s Public Art and Cultural Tourism portfolios
  • Collaborate with internal departments, artists, and community partners
  • Facilitate public engagement and outreach
  • Track outcomes, evaluate programs, and support reporting

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is organized, curious, and community-minded— with the confidence to lead, listen, and adapt.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Cultural Studies, Arts Education, Events Planning, Community Development, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in arts, culture, community programming, or a municipal setting
  • Strong communication and public engagement skills
  • Project management experience and problem-solving mindset
  • Passion for inclusion, diversity, and cultural vibrancy

Salary and Classification

This is a full-time unionized position classified under CUPE L126 – Level 7, with an annual salary of $61,497.80.
