In the dynamic and ever-changing world of arts and culture, it is imperative for established art galleries and museums to be simultaneously forward-thinking yet responsive to the evolving needs of audiences, artists and even up-and-coming arts professionals. Art Galleries and Museums: The Next Generation will serve as a platform for mid- to senior-level arts professionals to gain strategic insights on ‘the next generation’, and prepare for the future of the art gallery. Emerging professionals will be given the opportunity to speak directly to seasoned arts workers about their future aspirations for the field.

During this workshop, participants will unpack how they can strengthen their relationship with the younger generation, and focus on ways they can attract Gen Z audiences to their institutions. There will be discussions dedicated to how institutions can respond to emerging artistic practices by transforming their collections, ensuring they remain both relevant and influential.

Topics will Include:

  • The Evolution of Art Collections
  • The Next Generation of Arts Workers
  • Anticipating The Needs of Gen Z and Beyond

Participants Will:

  • Learn best practices, and strategies for supporting the next generation of arts professionals.
  • Learn how to anticipate and address the needs of new audiences through their collections and programming.
  • Develop strategies for navigating new artistic practices and learn how their collections can support new artists.

Registration Fees:

  • GOG Members: $175.00
  • General/Non-Members: $275.00
  • Artist / Independent Art Worker $55.00
