Experience the Hazel McCallion Central Library like never before as its façade transforms into a spectacular canvas of light, colour and motion. This stunning 3D projection mapping exhibition features the work of eight talented local artists—Fatimah I., Ashton NightHawk, Inaya Sher, Miranda Li, Amanda Foulds, Alek Phan, Noodin Studio, and Rainier Naomi—who have created mesmerizing works exploring themes of technology, storytelling and imagination that reflect and showcase the wonders of Mississauga.
Through a partnership with AVA Animation and Visual Arts Inc., these artists participated in capacity-building workshops to develop their creative concepts and technical skills, resulting in a visually captivating display that reimagines the library through the magic of projection technology.

Public Art Walking Tour

Led by the City’s public art team, this tour will explore notable works including Lightfall, Come Together, Spring Sky Mural, the Civic Centre’s Facility Art Collection and more. Learn about the stories behind these artworks, the artists who created them and how public art enhances our urban environment year-round.
Shadow Puppet Workshop

Led by local artist Yen Linh Thai, participants will design and assemble their own shadow puppets using pre-printed parts that can be mixed and matched, or create entirely original designs. Watch your creations come to life as they’re projected using overhead projectors, creating colourful images and silhouettes.

Mississauga’s Public Art Program began 15 years ago, with its establishment formally approved by City Council in 2010. Since then, it has experienced remarkable success in promoting Mississauga’s unique identity as a vibrant and diverse community where people want to live, work, and play.
The City’s public art collections now include 28 permanent artworks on publicly owned lands and the City has commissioned more than 55 artworks for temporary exhibition. These artworks are free and equally accessible to all residents, providing memorable experiences for children and adults alike. By fostering exploration, discovery, community, democratic engagement and artistic expression, Mississauga’s Public Art Program is encouraging its residents to feel belonging and happiness in their public spaces.
