Our final Asian Art auction of the year is led by the second installment of export porcelain from the Estate of Johannes Van Wees, Victoria, including ceramics from the Nanking Cargo and the Hoi An Hoard.
Other collectible highlights include a selection of Qing snuff bottles, a continuation of white jade carvings from a Toronto family collection, late Qing and modern Chinese paintings, and three suits of samurai armor.

Lot 5 – A Carved White Jade and Russet Pebble-Form Snuff Bottle, 18th Century
One side carved with plum blossoms, the other carved with lingzhi under bamboo branches.
Measurements: length 2.8 in — 7.2 cm
Condition: minor chip to lingzhi mushroom; overall in good condition

Lot 63 – A Large Chinese Yellow Embroidered Silk ‘Dragon’ Hanging, 19th Century
Boldly embroidered in coloured silk and gold-wrapped threads against a yellow ground, showcasing a frontal five-clawed dragon coiled around a flaming pearl, with four sinuous dragons similarly chasing pearls.
Measurements: 55.9 x 143.7 in — 142 x 365 cm
Condition: minor areas of staining; overall in good condition
