Voyages to the Varley Fundraiser

Kick off the summer with an intergalactic inspired night out while supporting the Varley Art Gallery of Markham

Inspired by the Varley’s summer exhibition, To go boldly, immerse yourself in a realm where imagination soars beyond limits. Proceeds from this fundraising event will support the seamless integration of the arts with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, nurturing the next generation of creative visionary thinkers.

Featuring:

  • Indoor and outdoor bar areas
  • A tour of To go boldly led by curator Anik Glaude, featuring artist talks by Stefana Fratila and Dara Gellman
  • A tour of Summer Solstice led by curator Anik Glaude
  • Star Trek cosplayers
  • Space-inspired music spun by a live DJ to get your groove on
  • Great food, beer, and wine
  • A vast silent auction for you to place your bids and take home some incredible items

About the Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham
The Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham supports the Varley Art Gallery of Markham as a vital cultural hub in the GTA. Our mandate is to support the Varley Art Gallery’s strong visual arts program through our activities and investments. We provide funding to assist with art acquisitions, the conservation of the Gallery’s art collection, educational programming and exhibition research. We also administer the volunteer program on behalf of the Varley Art Gallery, which provides additional support for their programs and events.

The Varley Art Gallery of Markham is a vital cultural hub for artists and diverse communities. A municipal gallery, we create critical conversations about Canadian art and society. We inspire local and national audiences to engage with art through outstanding exhibitions and rich public and educational programs relevant to the communities we serve. We support artists from York region and seek to broaden access to the arts for diverse artists and cultural groups. We also share and celebrate the life and work of F.H. Varley, a founding member of the Group of Seven.
