PROGRAMS

Digital Media Studio Practicum
January 6 – December 11, 2020
Application deadline: August 14

Gain practical experience in the areas of audio, animation, interactive media, computational media, digital fabrication, video production, and post-production for use in artistic practice. This program is suited for recent graduates of studio-based programs with an emphasis on Digital Media.

Printmaking Studio Practicum
January 6 – December 11, 2020
Application deadline: August 14

This program offers practical experience in screen printing, intaglio, lithography, typography, digital printing and software, fibre, papermaking, and new technology. You’ll receive training in both printmaking and papermaking studio operation in support of your artistic practice.

Sculpture Studio Practicum
January 6 – December 11, 2020
Application deadline: August 14

Gain experience with tool maintenance and safety, woodworking with hand tools and heavy equipment (table saw, band saw, planer, jointer, miter saw), metal working and metal casting (bronze and aluminum), and training in sculpture studio operation for support of artistic practice.

Banff Artist in Residence Emerging
January 6 – February 7, 2020
Application deadline: September 4

This is an immersive program of studio practice, creative exploration, and critical feedback and mentorship for visual artists in the early stages of their careers.

Banff Artist in Residence Winter 2020
January 6 – February 7, 2020
Application deadline: September 4

Focus on your own practice in a supportive learning environment. You will be encouraged to explore new ideas, create, self-direct your research and time, and cultivate new directions in your work.

Banff International Curatorial Institute Fellowship Winter 2020
January 6 – March 27, 2020
Application deadline: September 4

This program supports established curators, arts writers, cultural critics, researchers, and artists in focusing deeply on the development of their work. Enjoy self-directed research over an extended period of 12 weeks within the creative and intellectually stimulating environment at Banff Centre.

Banff Artist in Residence Late Winter 2020
February 24 – March 27, 2020
Application deadline: October 2

Delve deeply into your practice while away from the constraints of everyday life. You will be provided with a studio, accessible 24 hours a day, as well as access to our extensive facilities.
