YYZ Artists’ Outlet is facing an immediate financial crisis, and we need your support right now.

We were recently notified that our application for the Ontario Arts Council three-year operating grant was unsuccessful due to new funding criteria prioritizing short-term economic metrics. Losing this core operational funding places YYZ in immediate jeopardy.

Without immediate intervention from our community, YYZ Artists’ Outlet faces the very real prospect of closing our doors.

Please donate $25, $50, $100, $500, or more, please do so today via Canada Helps.

If you can make a larger contribution, please consider becoming a major donor and contact us directly at 647-295-7377 about how you can help.

Or purchase a 50/50 raffle ticket

Raffle runs from October 3 to November 21 with a grand prize draw on November 22, 2026.

Every donation or raffle ticket purchase helps us meet essential operating costs and maintain the infrastructure required to continue presenting exhibitions, commissioning new work, publishing, paying artists and writers, and keeping our doors open to the public.

Since 1979, YYZ Artists’ Outlet has provided artists with something essential: a space to experiment. For 47 years, artists have come through our doors to present new work, take creative risks, test ideas, challenge conventions, and engage audiences in conversations that might not happen anywhere else. We have supported the arts economy by directly supporting emerging and established artists, interdisciplinary practices, and voices that have been underrepresented in larger cultural institutions. We have done this because we believe that artists need independent spaces and that Toronto needs artists.

If you are an artist who has exhibited at YYZ, a writer or curator who has worked with us, a collector who has discovered an artist through our programming, a neighbour, a funder, a board member, a volunteer, or simply someone who believes that Toronto needs independent contemporary art spaces: this is the moment to stand with YYZ.

Help us keep the doors open.
Help us keep artists working.
Help us keep YYZ alive.
