STEPS Public Art envisions a world where artists and communities co-create meaningful, welcoming and safe public spaces. We are a CRA registered charity that engages and empowers artists and communities to transform public spaces into vibrant places. We are a small but mighty team of creative entrepreneurial innovators. We attract high-performing, highly ethical employees who truly care about their communities. Our open-concept office along Toronto’s Waterfront has natural light and ample room for physical distancing. Cultural Planning Manager

STEPS is seeking an experienced planner or project manager for a full-time position supporting our cultural planning and placemaking services. For the immediate future, most of the responsibilities for this role can be performed virtually and we are accepting applications from applicants across Canada.

Operations Coordinator

STEPS is seeking a creative and organized problem solver with a passion for systems design, team building, and the role of the arts in building inclusive public spaces. This is a full-time hybrid position that allows for remote work and some responsibilities completed in person at our Toronto office.

Public Art Assistants

STEPS is seeking up to four (4) energetic team players to support the development and execution of public art projects across the organization. This is a hybrid position (virtual and in-person responsibilities) partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs to create meaningful employment opportunities for young people.

Engagement Assistant

STEPS is seeking a passionate marketing whiz and storyteller to amplify the work of artists and engage people in public art experiences. This is a remote work position partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs and we are accepting applications from anywhere in Canada.

Seeking photographers and videographers for various roles!
Apply by April 5, 2022 for the full-time summer position

STEPS is seeking documentarians (photographers and videographers) to visually demonstrate the impact of public art! There are multiple opportunities, including staff (Toronto) and contract positions (Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Halifax, Regina, Fredericton). Emerging artists are strongly encouraged to apply as one position is earmarked for candidates under 30.


STEPS encourages applications from all qualified candidates that represent the full diversity of communities in Canada, including complexities of intersecting identities such as ability, class, gender, race and sexual orientation. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from equity-deserving communities, including those who identify as: Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), Black, a person of colour, newcomer, Disabled and LGBTQQIP2SAA+.
