Spring 2022 Online Drawing and Painting Studio Classes at the McMichael

In this virtual studio experience, taught live through the Zoom platform, professional artist Robert Strickland will demonstrate his approach to still-life painting. Using demonstrations and personalized instruction, he will guide students through traditional painting techniques. Strickland will review key concepts such as shape, value, form and colour theory, and reinforce how these concepts are essential for beginner and intermediate painters looking to take their skills to the next level. Students will begin with charcoal, focusing on shape, value and form. Following their introduction to these key concepts, students will explore colour theory and work towards creating a full colour painting.
