Rewind: Resident Artists Exhibition
REWIND: Resident Artists Exhibition
View our 13 Resident Artists’ unique and beautiful creations online now until July 30. The Mississauga Living Arts Centre Resident Artist Program provides professionally-equipped studios for emerging and mid-career artists to explore, exchange ideas and develop bodies of work. Artists in the program are thinkers, makers, designers and labourers, and are driven by the desire to work for sustained creative engagement.
Throughout 2020-2021, COVID-19 has significantly impacted artists and the creative industries. Rewind provides opportunities for artists to reflect on this past year, their practice and to find a way to begin again in this new world. Working across media, residents in ceramics, glass, jewellery, painting, photography, textiles and sculpture celebrate the act of making.
Works featured discuss contemporary craft, social and environmental topics as we rewind and begin again.
Resident Artists Include: Lindsey Claire Adelman, Shankar Adiseshan, Dania Al-Obaidi, Gordon Boyd, Courtney Downman, Caroline Forde, Alby Kenny, Matthew McIntyre, Gular Mustafa, Brenda Nieves, Amee Raval, Ishrat Raza Suhrwardy, Kathy Straczynski
