Request for Qualifications: Integrated Therapeutic Art for the Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital

Trillium Health Partners

Call to Artists: Design Services for Integrated Therapeutic Installations

Submission Deadline: November 17, 2026, 5:00pm ET

“A new kind of health care for a healthier community”

The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital is a critical part of Trillium Health Partners’ plan to build a new kind of health care that serves our growing and diverse community for the decades ahead.

The new hospital will be a full replacement of the existing hospital and will redefine a new urban centre focused on health in this part of the city. A feature of this project will be the creation of six (6) integrated therapeutic art installations designed by artists collaborating with the project design team and implemented by the contractor (referred to as ProjectCo) as part of the building program. Themes have been identified for each opportunity. This Request for Qualifications is intended to identify artists for a pool of candidates from which ProjectCo and Trillium Health Partners may select artist collaborators.

Land Acknowledgement

Trillium Health Partners operates on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, as well as the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat and Haudenosaunee Nations. The land on which Trillium Health Partners is situated has been the site of human activity for 15,000 years and continues to be home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities from across Turtle Island. Trillium Health Partners holds an accountability to caring for these lands and its inhabitants, and as an organization committed to advancing equity and inclusion, we reflect on our accountabilities as a provider of health services, acknowledge systemic inequities, and work collaboratively with Indigenous communities to create meaningful change.

Diversity

Trillium Health Partners is committed to advancing anti-racism, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility throughout our operations, policies, practices, and organizational culture. We believe that artists from diverse backgrounds bring valuable perspectives, lived experiences, and creative approaches that enrich public spaces. We encourage applications from artists who identify as members of equity-deserving communities, including First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples; Black and racialized individuals; persons with disabilities; members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities; and others who have experienced marginalization.
