The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and STEPS Public Art Consultants invite Canadian artists to submit a proposal for the prequalification of a new public artwork.

The TTC is commissioning a new permanent public artwork for the curved bare concrete wall located at the indoor street level of Wellesley Station in Toronto, ON. The artwork will be integrated directly onto this designated curved bare concrete block wall.

Aligned with the Toronto Public Art Strategy (2020–2030), the artwork should reflect the history, present, and future of the surrounding community and the land on which the Station stands. This call is open to eligible artists or artist teams who are current residents of Canada, from emerging to established practices.

Submissions

Interested Proponents/Artists are invited to download the documents from the Bonfire portal, see link below and submit a complete RFPQ package. Please visit the website for additional information on the application process and required materials.

All proposals for the Pre-Qualification must be submitted through TTC’s online Bonfire Portal.

Inquiries, Questions And Answers

During the RFPQ process, all inquiries or requests for additional information must be submitted in writing to the Procurement and Category Specialist (PCS) via email or through Bonfire. Administrative and technical questions will be posted with answers on Bonfire. Questions regarding the collection and use of personal information should be directed in writing to the PCS Contact.
