Speculate on possible futures in the group exhibition ANTICIPATION at Plural’s Pavilion

Curated by Sophie Latouche and located on the second floor of the fair, ANTICIPATION explores the premonitory power of contemporary artworks. Drawing on science fiction, especially the writings of Octavia E. Butler, the exhibition envisions the future as a practice of adaptation, through the revitalization of materials, the reactivation of images and archival objects, utopia, and time-based processual practices. Bringing together the works of eleven artists from different generations, ANTICIPATION brings forth a network of formal and symbolic resonances.

“Visitors are invited to consider their own anticipations, shaped as much by loss as by the possibility of reinvention, highlighting the importance of our present actions and our collective imaginations.”
Sophie Latouche, curator of the exhibition
