photoED magazine presents: a moment to breathe in full colour
“Color is a power which directly influences the soul.”
– Wassily Kandinsky
If you have ever felt the stress of life leave your mind following a visit to an art exhibition, read on to find out how you may be able to replicate this at home this winter!
The independent team behind photoED magazine is proud to present their latest edition, The Colour issue.
Colour is not only one of the most joyful elements to explore in photography, but colours can hold incredible significance as nostalgic triggers, and be symbols for social change.
The artists in this edition work with colour in beautiful and intentional ways.
Skip the junk & FOMO & artspeak
photoED magazine is delivered to the mailboxes of art lovers across Canada. Striking, beautiful, intentional photographs are paired with casual conversations and accessible language in high-quality print.
If you struggle with institutional artspeak and would enjoy a pause from doom scrolling through AI-created social media content selling you junk and FOMO, take a moment to mindfully read the latest edition of photoED magazine.

OAC Funds Cut
The excitement of the launch of this latest edition is tempered with recent news from the Ontario Arts Council that this small independent publisher (falsely) lacks “vision and innovation.” This inaccurate interpretation of this publishing team’s work for photographic artists has resulted in a three-year exclusion from operational funding support.
This financial cut directly affects the fees paid to photoED magazine’s contributing artists and writers.
Although this decision is irreversible, the photoED magazine team is quite clear in its vision in presenting lens-based artists’ stories in a brand new light, and remains resilient in the face of meaningless buzzwords such as “innovation.” photoED magazine is an enjoyable read presented as a curated art gallery experience, welcoming all levels of photography lovers, with high-quality editorials.
