About the Artists:

Sara Petroff, English History Class

Sara Petroff
Drawn to salvaging traces of time, Sara up-cycles obsolete and discarded ephemera, reframing history in highly unusual, emotionally engaging ways.

Her recent mixed media 3D sculptural collages are turning heads and dropping jaws.

Sculpted entirely from salvaged vintage and antique books, documents and nostalgia otherwise headed for the landfill, Sara reinterprets discarded markers of cultural memory in ways that expand their meaning, relevance and interest.

Often in the form of clothing, these works are never intended as historical costume but rather as an intimate space into which the viewer projects their own memories.

Sara’s work belongs in public museums and galleries. Her artworks are richly layered and thought-provoking visual excavations, expressing history in riveting visual experiences. You must see them in person to truly appreciate their depths.

Eric Allen Montgomery
Utilizing a wide variety of found, altered and up-cycled objects, Eric’s mixed media assemblage jewellery pieces are visual narratives.

Linking the technical expertise of a craftsperson, the aesthetic explorations of an artist and the wit of a story teller, his wearable art begins conversations.

Eric is also an independent curator, working with private and corporate art collections and assists exhibition installations at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in Waterloo.
