Program Area/Level
Responsible for teaching course(s) in the Art Fundamentals certificate program in the School of Creative Arts and Animation

To instruct a full course (three hours each week over 14 weeks) in Painting Studio in the Art Fundamentals Certificate Program. One section of the course is available. Practice and expertise in painting and colour theory is necessary.


  • Completed academic credential in the discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Minimum three years experience in teaching at a post-secondary level
  • Minimum of five years visual art practice


  • Traditional painting skills preferably in gouache
  • Colour theory skills
  • Software skills using Blackboard (or similar education software)
  • Responsive, effective and creative teaching skills
  • Excellent presentation, communication and human relations skills to interact effectively with the Seneca’s diverse student and staff population

About the Program
The eight-month Art Fundamentals (AFD) certificate program provides a strong foundation in traditional and digital art. Designed to build skills in art, design, creativity, communication and critical thinking, AFD prepares students for further education and a career path in fields such as animation, illustration and graphic design.
