Side by Side

Presented by: Sue Archibald, Susan Dain, Susan Eckenwalder and Linda Semple
Art Space Connect Gallery
March 28 to April 18, 2022

Side by Side is an exhibition of work created by four artists that have been painting, creating and critiquing each other’s work for many years. With the powerful, artistic synergy derived from painting “side by side”, they have distilled the group dynamic into their own unique ideas and thoughts. The vast array of painting styles in this exhibition clearly show how artists can benefit from having input from others while enhancing their own work, and all without losing their own voice.

Confinement and Contagion

Curated by: Defne Inceoglu and Revital Weiss
Parkview Gallery
March 28 to April 18, 2022

Confinement and Contagion: COVID-19 & Health in the Prison System is an exhibition and workshop series for people affected by the prison system to share their work and their stories. The exhibition will advocate for and educate on prisoner health, especially in light of the pandemic. Using storytelling, artworks and participatory workshops, Confinement and Contagion will bring awareness to the ongoing mental, physical, emotional and spiritual issues that prisoners and people who have been impacted by the system face. The project looks to support and extend solidarity with marginalized populations and advocates for the dismantling of oppressive systems.
