Maple Ridge Artist in Residence Program: Live-Work Studio House, 2020-2023

Artist in Residence Program – Expressions of Interest for Live-Work Studio House 2020 to 2023

Deadline: February 21, 2020

Canadian artists and artist teams working in any artistic/cultural discipline are invited to submit an Expression of Interest application for one new artist in residence opportunity in Maple Ridge, BC. There is one live-work house with studio approx. 1600 sq. ft. for a term of 3 years starting spring 2020. The Artist in Residence Program provides an opportunity for professional artists to create arts/culture based community engagement projects and activities, for a minimum number of hours per year, in exchange for studio space and housing. The program’s purpose is to provide a framework for community cultural development and pride of place by activating and animating public facilities and parks through programming and community engagement on themes identified in the City’s strategic plans.

Proposed initiatives are not pre-determined and can be focused on one or more themed areas. We encourage artists with experience working with children, youth and diverse communities, and have an inclusive and community engaged arts practice to apply. Please note this is a position of trust and a satisfactory police information check will be required for the successful candidate. Those selected for a brief interview (in person or video conference) will be provided with a $100 honorarium.

Please see Guidelines, budget, and provisions documents, location specs and Expression of Interest Application form for details.
