Lassonde Art Trail

Phase 2 launch: July 25, 2026
Biidaasige Park, Toronto
Free and open year-round

The Lassonde Art Trail (LAT) expands across the full network of paths through Biidaasige Park starting July 25, 2026, marking the next major milestone in the launch of one of Canada’s most ambitious contemporary public art destinations.

LAT opened in June with works by Alexandre Arrechea, Caroline Monnet & Dean Baldwin Lew, Kara Hamilton, Nadia Belerique & Tony Romano, Oluseye, Ryan Gander, and Tracey Emin.

Newly installed works by artists Alexa Kumiko Hatanaka, Hank Willis Thomas, Lisa Hirmer, Ryan Gander and Virginia Overton, will be on view starting July 25, as the Art Trail expands and evolves its presentation of major works by Canadian, Indigenous, and international artists. Many artworks will remain on view for one to five years, ensuring the trail continues to evolve over time.

Free and accessible year-round, the Lassonde Art Trail offers new ways to experience contemporary public art with every visit.

Free Art + Nature Tours run every Saturday until August 22, 2026, at 11am, 2pm, and 4pm. Each tour lasts approximately 40 minutes and is led by LAT Art Guides. No registration is required.

Upcoming programming includes Photo Walks: Lumen Printing with Julie Pasila on July 18, and Soundings with Simon Pope on August 11. Admission is free. Registration is required. Details are at lassondearttrail.org.

Integrated into Biidaasige Park, the Art Trail reflects the transformation of Toronto’s waterfront while engaging broader conversations about environmental renewal, climate resilience, Indigenous relationships to land and water, the role of public art in civic life, and the evolving future of Toronto’s waterfront.
