The Indigenous Curatorial Collective / Collectif des commissaires autochtones (ICCA) invites curators, artists, writers, and cultural workers to join Kîsik | Skywatching the Future this November, celebrating 20 years of grounded practice and forward vision in Indigenous curatorial leadership. This gathering offers an immersive experience across Treaty 6 and Treaty 4 territories, featuring dynamic programming that centers reflection, dialogue, and community-rooted exchange. Participants will engage in panels, workshops, and exhibition openings, all designed to foster meaningful connections and generative conversations about the past, present, and future of #IndigenousArts.
#Kîsik2025 isn’t just a gathering—it’s a space for cultivating solidarity, celebrating creativity, and interrogating the systems and structures that shape artistic practice across Turtle Island. Programming emphasizes critical dialogue and the formation of solidarities, with particular attention to Black × Indigenous intersections, exploring how histories of colonization, systemic inequities, and genocide continue to influence contemporary experiences. Participants will discuss curatorial mentorship, delegation initiatives, international exchange, and collaborative strategies to strengthen artistic communities. #ICCA
Across four days of programming, attendees will experience shared meals, networking opportunities, and moments of reflection alongside keynote presentations. Participants will be invited to engage with practices that decenter whiteness, braid perspectives, and investigate how leisure, placemaking, and cultural care can cultivate solidarity and mutual understanding. #CuratorGathering

About ICCA
The Indigenous Curatorial Collective / Collectif des commissaires autochtones (ICCA) is an Indigenous-run non-profit organization that supports and connects Indigenous curators, artists, writers, and arts professionals across Turtle Island. In 2005, a group of Indigenous curators came together to develop a long-term strategy to better support a community of current and future Indigenous curators. This led to the launch of the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective / Collectif des commissaires autochtones (ACC-CCA) on March 14, 2006. For the last 20 years, the organization has facilitated professional development, curatorial mentorship, and publications, while advocating for the visibility, sovereignty, and leadership of Indigenous arts.
