Returning to Ourselves presents over forty years of transformative work by Rebecca Baird and Kenny Alvin Baird. The exhibition spans sculpture, painting, and traditional material practices, alongside interior design, film art direction, graphic design, and public art commissions.

Emerging from their Cree Métis lived histories and ways of knowing, the Bairds approach creative practice through multiple cultural perspectives, bringing together diverse forms of making grounded in lived experience, collaboration, and community-centred practice.

Celebrated Inuk artist Michael Massie is internationally recognized for his skill as a silversmith and sculptor, as well as for his keen design sensibility. Well known for his iconic teapots, humorous owl sculptures, and delicate bowls, Massie has been pushing boundaries throughout his career, stretching the definitions of what Inuit art can be.

Michael Massie: now and then brings together works from across his career, including a large collection of teapots, previously unexhibited pieces, and new sculptural installations, to celebrate the enduring importance of joy, experimentation, and humour in his work. This exhibition showcases Massie’s ability to blend exceptional craftsmanship with thoughtful commentary on politics, community, and Inuit design traditions, all while pushing the boundaries of his own practice and public expectations of Inuit artists. now and then traces the palpable delight Massie imbues in all of his work through his refined aesthetics, amusing subjects, and passion for pursuing new challenges.

In conjunction with the Gwangju Biennale Canada Pavilion exhibition Skennen’kó:wa ken? Do You Carry Great Peace? Onsite Gallery presents Women of Wampum, a lecture and workshop led by artist Katsitsakatste Lindsay Delaronde exploring the enduring role of Haudenosaunee women as spiritual leaders, knowledge keepers, and architects of peace. Grounded in the teachings of Sky World, the Creation Story, the Great Law of Peace, and the Peacemaker narrative, Delaronde examines how Haudenosaunee knowledge continues to shape governance through balance, reciprocity, relational accountability, and collective responsibility. Space is limited.

Art Creates Change: Bonnie Devine

Co-sponsored by Onsite Gallery, Art Creates Change is a long-running lecture series, now in its 20th year. This year, in recognition of OCAD University’s 150th anniversary, the series will focus on three faculty members: Bonnie Devine, Richard Fung and Lillian Allen, three artists whose work has helped shape not only OCAD University but also the larger culture and political conversations of our time. Drop by for this amazing lecture!

The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session and reception.
