PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSIONS
Documentary Media MFA
Bridging traditions of documentary practice with emerging approaches to non-fiction storytelling, this interdisciplinary program brings together students to explore documentary forms and strategies in the making of new documentary work. Working alongside artists, scholars and media professionals, students engage with the histories and theories of documentary, while working with the tools needed to complete their own major creative projects.

Film + Photography Preservation and Collections Management MA
Ryerson’s F+PPCM program provides students with a two-year comprehensive education in the theory, history practice and methods of still and moving image preservation. The program offers a professional curriculum developed and delivered by a range of specialists, from historians and practitioners of photo- and film-based media to museum, library and archive professionals. The program includes a required internship and second-year residency at a growing list of local, national and international partner institutions.

Master of Journalism
The Master of Journalism program offers advanced professional education in journalism as practised in all major media: newspapers, magazines, broadcasting and new media. Graduates will be well prepared for employment in news organizations across Canada and beyond, or as freelancers. The program emphasizes innovative approaches to journalistic practice, preparing graduates to adapt to and lead the new developments that will change the practices of journalism over the course of their careers.

Media Production MA
This Program challenges students to explore traditional and innovative media forms, platforms and technologies to tell compelling stories and reach diverse audiences. Applicants bring strong creative, academic, and production expertise to the Program. Building on their creative ability, students leverage the resources available at Ryerson and strategic ties with media companies beyond the University’s walls to develop compelling productions in a variety of media.
Students interested in obtaining an MBA along with an MA in Media Production will have the option of continuing their studies in the Ted Rogers School of Management. The Media Production MBA pathway will confer two graduate degrees in just 24 months.
