Eva Francis-Work: tell me, what’s real?
November 6 – January 16, 2025
Ascent Gallery, Toronto
This solo exhibition by Eva Francis-Work showcases a series of prints and artworks that challenge traditional female film tropes. Through a blend of printmaking and AI-generated environments, the show presents thought-provoking scenes that question the artificial portrayals of women in cinema. Each large-scale print draws attention to the lack of depth in these depictions, using flawed AI environments to mirror the unrealistic two-dimensional characters seen on screen. The exhibition encourages reflection on the roles of art, technology, and gender, highlighting how women are portrayed in film and beyond.
