Erin Vincent: re-considered
Erin Vincent: re-considered
October 17 β November 10, 2019
Opening Reception: October 17, 7-9 pm
The Campus Gallery at Georgian College is pleased to present an exhibition of work by Toronto based artist Erin Vincent.
The exhibition re-considered features recent work that highlights the artists remarkably facility with materials. In a recent statement she suggests:
βIt is through the slow unfolding of the unaccustomed unions of discarded or mundane materials that a heightened awareness of the present β either physical or psychological β intensifies and affect is created. This work strives for a visceral response that could be triggered by the rich saturation of colours, palpable textures and familiar forms that are simultaneously alluring and repellent while maintaining a captivating presence.β
The show will include new work and a site-specific work created for the Campus Gallery.
Erin Vincent will be represented at Art Toronto 2019 with Renann Isaacs Contemporary Art and also featured in a solo exhibition at Christie Contemporary, Toronto, in July 2020. Erin Vincent holds an MFA from York University, over the past 8 years she has been featured in numerous exhibitions in Canada and the US.
