Exhibiting Artists
Kelly Rose Adams, Robyn Asquini, Chad Cole, Francis Hahn, Kalmplex, and Sherry Park.
Six artists use figurative painting to explore history, culture, and place.
In a 2 person-exhibition, Chad Cole and Robyn Asquini use collage-like combinations of abstraction and realism in their paintings, which create not only a contemporary aesthetic, but also reflect on contemporary issues. Kelly Rose Adams is interested in how noticing, then documenting, everyday sights, objects, and encounters can reveal beauty in ordinary or unexpected places. Sherry Park’s passion is painting people, aiming to capture both a likeness and a sense of personality. Kalmplex’s work explores identity, ancestry, memory, and Black presence through bold, abstracted figurative painting. Twin figures are a common motif in Frances Hahn’s work, representing two ways of doing something and the duality contained within a person.

Chad Cole, Barcelona, Oil on canvas.
Plus, in the Art Studio, resident artists Jordan Dunlop, Alisa McRonald, and Brandy Ryan show completed work and work in progress from their three month residencies at the hotel.
Free admission. Cash bar.
Remarks at 6:30pm.
Continue the party in Cassette at Gladstone House, with a DJ from 8–10pm.
This event is free to attend and open to all ages. Registration recommended.
