Game Design
This 2 course micro-credential verifies that students successfully achieved intermediate competency in Unity. Topics include working with 2D and 3D models, game objects, intermediate scripts, and applying materials, lighting, and sound, game story flows, environment and level design, navigation, modifying game assets, animation, character controllers, input and game states. Demonstrations, presentations, and discussions about the game experience such as rules, play, and culture, support the design process. Critical play and design exercises will supplement the hands-on, in engine learning environment.

Intro to Project Management for Creative Professionals
This micro-credential provides an overview of project management practices for creative professionals interested in developing their business skills. Students will be introduced to agile, waterfall, and hybrid project delivery frameworks. They will learn about agile project frameworks such as scrum and Kanban, as well as the Project Management Institute’s five project phases and ten project knowledge areas. This micro-credential will provide best practices for entrepreneurs who are looking to utilize project management tools and techniques to create a solid foundation for their business.

Advanced Social Media Marketing for Creative Entrepreneurs
This intensive micro-credential is designed for emerging creative entrepreneurs. The course builds on the skills and concepts taught in the Social Media Marketing for Creative Professionals course. Students will learn how to develop their unique voice and professional brand, reaching both wide and focused audiences, to acquire and retain customers profitably and increase their competitiveness in the field.
Starts online, November 6.

Student Profile: Christopher Reyes
Christopher Reyes is enrolled in the Graphic Design and Visual Communication Skills certificate at SCS. He is a creative director and interior designer based in Toronto. He has served as the Senior Creative Manager and Visual Director for Home Departments at the Hudson’s Bay Company. Christopher has collaborated with industry leaders in interior design such as Brian Gluckstein. Recent collaborations include projects with brands DNA and Ruggable. He is currently writing and designing a coffee table book titled FORM and FEELING, which celebrates life’s essential elements of passion, perspective, pivot, and pause.

Instructor Profile: Omid Ettehadi
Omid Ettehadi is a senior product designer at CBC/Radio-Canada, where he works on a wide array of products spanning web, mobile app, and voice platforms. Omid teaches Intro to User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design and Intermediate User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design. For him, crafting innovative solutions that genuinely enrich users’ experiences is of the essence. Omid leads students on a design journey by guiding them through every stage of creating a product. This hands-on approach allows them to put theoretical knowledge into practical applications.
